Black Folding Adirondack Chair in Weather-Resistant HDPE
Available in stock
Poly chairs are the ones you never have to bring in. Folding chairs are the ones you can put away. Usually you pick one or the other, and this is both, which is why it tends to end up on small decks where the furniture has to move for anything else to happen.
Folds with one hand
The folding action is deliberately simple. Hold the front center of the seat, lift, and the chair closes. There's no catch to release or pin to pull, which matters when you're collecting chairs off a deck in the rain.
Poly that behaves like furniture
High-density polyethylene won't splinter, crack, rot, or need refinishing, and the color runs through the full thickness so scuffs don't leave pale marks. It handles chlorine and salt air without complaint, which makes it a practical choice around a pool or near the coast where wooden furniture needs constant attention. A rinse with a hose is the entire maintenance routine.

Zero upkeep, and it folds
No sealing, ever
HDPE poly means no sealing, staining, or winter storage is required at any point, and the folding frame means you can store it anyway when you want the space back.
Scuffs do not show
Cleaning is a hose or mild soap and water. The black is molded through the material, so scuffs do not reveal a different color underneath and there is no coating to chip.
One pivot to keep clean
The only part worth a glance is the folding pivot. Rinse grit away a few times a season and it keeps moving freely. Store it folded or leave it out all year, the material does not care.
Folding HDPE Adirondack Chair FAQs
Why buy a folding chair in a material that does not need storing?
Why buy a folding chair in a material that does not need storing?
Because storage is not always about weather. Folding lets you clear a small patio for a barbecue, stack extras in a garage between gatherings, or throw a couple in a car. You get the option without the maintenance obligation.
Does it feel as solid as a fixed HDPE chair?
Does it feel as solid as a fixed HDPE chair?
Once open, yes. The frame stock is the same thickness and it locks into position. The tradeoff is a hinge to keep clean rather than any flex when you sit.
Can it stay outside through winter?
Can it stay outside through winter?
Yes. HDPE handles snow and hard freezes without cracking or warping, which is the practical advantage over a folding wooden chair.
How do I clean it after a season outdoors?
How do I clean it after a season outdoors?
A hose handles most of it. For pollen or sap, mild soap and a soft brush. Skip abrasive pads, which dull the surface.
Is black a practical color outdoors?
Is black a practical color outdoors?
It hides dirt well and pairs with almost any decking or stonework. Like any dark surface it warms in direct sun, though the slatted design keeps air moving underneath.
