The frame is solid acacia, the same dense hardwood used for cutting boards, so a folding chair that could feel flimsy instead feels planted. When you're finished it collapses to about 45 by 22 inches and hangs on a garage hook or slides behind a door. The acacia arrives warm-toned; a yearly wipe of oil holds that color, or you can let it settle into a soft gray.
From upright chair to full recline
A retractable footrest is what does the converting. Slide it away and the seat sits at coffee-and-conversation height; extend it and drop the back, and you're stretched out flat. The seat itself is woven PE rattan, so there's no cushion to haul in and out.
